These Hot Cheeto Mozzarella Sticks are a bold and fun twist on a classic snack. The crunchy, spicy Hot Cheeto coating perfectly complements the gooey, melted mozzarella inside. Ideal for parties, game nights, or a late-night treat, they are quick to prepare, customizable, and loved by both kids and adults.

Ingredients

  • Mozzarella sticks or string cheese
  • Flamin’ Hot Cheetos (crushed into fine crumbs)
  • All-purpose flour
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Salt (optional)
  • Dipping sauces of your choice (marinara, ranch, or yogurt dip)
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare Hot Cheeto crumbs: Crush Flamin’ Hot Cheetos in a food processor or zip-top bag until fine. Place in a shallow bowl.
  2. Set up breading station: Use three bowls – one with flour, one with egg and milk mixture, and one with Hot Cheeto crumbs.
  3. Coat mozzarella sticks: Roll each stick in flour, dip in egg wash, then coat with Hot Cheeto crumbs. Repeat egg wash and crumb coating for extra crunch. Lay on a parchment-lined tray.
  4. Freeze sticks: Place breaded sticks in the freezer for at least 1 hour to prevent cheese from leaking while frying.
  5. Heat oil: Preheat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry sticks: Cook in small batches for about 2 minutes until bright red and crispy. Avoid overcrowding. Drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve: Enjoy immediately with dipping sauces.

Notes

Baking option: Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 8–10 minutes for a healthier alternative.

Customization: Mix Hot Cheeto crumbs with regular breadcrumbs for milder spice or try other cheeses like pepper jack or cheddar.

Make-ahead: Freeze breaded sticks for up to a month and fry when needed.
