Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a loaf pan generously with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of sugar, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of ground cardamom, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, mix together 1 cup of warm milk, 1/2 cup of softened butter, and 2 large eggs until smooth.
  5. Add in the zest of one orange and stir well.
  6. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients gradually while stirring gently until just combined.
  7. Transfer your batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth out the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake in your preheated oven for about 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. While your bread is baking, whip together 1/2 cup softened butter with 1/4 cup honey and zest from another orange in a small bowl until fluffy and well combined.
  10. Allow your Sweet Cardamom Bread to cool in the pan for about ten minutes before transferring it onto a wire rack.
  11. Slice the bread warm or at room temperature and generously spread with Honey Orange Butter before serving.
