These Star Wars Chewbacca Brownies are rich, fudgy, and decorated to celebrate one of the most beloved Star Wars characters. They are easy to prepare, fun to customize, and perfect for themed parties, family gatherings, or simple movie nights at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup butter (or margarine), melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Frosting for decoration (optional)
  • Shredded coconut or chocolate sprinkles (for Chewbacca’s “fur”)
  • Candy pieces or fondant strips (for the “bandolier”)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a square baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl. Let it cool slightly, then whisk in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Stir until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips, distributing them evenly.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting.
  10. Once cooled, cut into squares or rectangles. Spread frosting on each piece.
  11. Sprinkle shredded coconut or chocolate sprinkles over the frosting to create a fur-like texture.
  12. Place candy pieces or fondant strips diagonally across the brownie to resemble Chewbacca’s bandolier.
  13. Arrange decorated brownies on a serving plate and enjoy.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, substitute butter with margarine or a plant-based spread.

For gluten-free brownies, replace all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend.

If you prefer a more intense flavor, add extra dark chocolate chips to the batter.

Allow brownies to cool fully before decorating to prevent frosting from melting.
