This smoky oven-baked salmon is seasoned Texas Roadhouse-style, offering a rich, savory flavor balanced with a hint of sweetness. It’s simple to prepare, versatile for any occasion, and budget-friendly without compromising on taste.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (skin-on or skinless)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease with olive oil.
  2. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each fillet.
  3. In a small bowl, mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, chili powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  4. Brush the salmon fillets with olive oil or melted butter. Sprinkle the spice mix evenly over each fillet, pressing gently so the seasoning sticks.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets. The salmon is ready when it flakes easily with a fork and turns opaque.
  6. Remove from the oven and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the fillets. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.

Notes

For extra smokiness, add a pinch of chipotle powder or liquid smoke to the seasoning mix.

Adjust spice levels to taste by adding more chili powder or a pinch of cayenne.

Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to three days and used in wraps, salads, or rice bowls.
