With a golden, flaky crust and a rich, savory filling of beef, turkey bacon, chicken ham, and vegetables, these pies are both versatile and satisfying. They are budget-friendly, customizable, and suitable for various occasions, making them a timeless recipe to keep in your collection.

  • 500g beef, diced
  • 100g turkey bacon, chopped
  • 100g chicken ham, chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 potato, diced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash

Instructions

  1. Dice all meat and vegetables. Finely chop onion and mince garlic.
  2. Brown beef in a skillet over medium heat. Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook turkey bacon and chicken ham in the same skillet for 3–4 minutes.
  4. Sauté onion, garlic, carrot, and potato until softened, about 5–7 minutes.
  5. Return beef to skillet, mix with vegetables, turkey bacon, and chicken ham.
  6. Season with thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper; stir well.
  7. Add peas and cook for 3–4 minutes; allow filling to cool slightly.
  8. Roll out puff pastry and cut into squares.
  9. Place filling in center of each square, fold, and seal edges with a fork.
  10. Brush tops with beaten egg.
  11. Bake at 200°C (400°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden and puffed.
  12. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Filling can be prepared a day ahead.

Pies can be frozen and baked from frozen with extra 5–10 minutes.

Customize by adding vegetables or herbs according to preference.
