Philly Cheesesteak Pasta brings the bold, savory flavors of the classic sandwich into a creamy, comforting pasta dish. With tender beef, sautéed peppers and onions, and a rich cheese sauce, this dish is quick to prepare, versatile, and perfect for weeknight dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz pasta (penne, rigatoni, or your choice)
  • 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup cream or milk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions for 3–4 minutes until they soften.
  3. Add bell peppers to the skillet and cook for another 4–5 minutes until tender but still crisp. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Push vegetables to the side and add the beef. Season with salt and pepper. Cook 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is browned and tender.
  5. Reduce heat and pour in cream or milk. Gradually add shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until melted and smooth. Add reserved pasta water if needed to reach desired sauce consistency.
  6. Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss everything together to evenly coat with the sauce. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Thinly slice beef to ensure quick cooking and tender texture.

Keep vegetables slightly crisp for better texture and flavor balance.

You can customize the recipe with different cheeses, vegetables, or protein alternatives like turkey bacon or chicken ham.
