Monster Mash Brownies are a festive, fudgy chocolate treat with colorful candy mix-ins. Perfect for parties, holidays, or casual indulgence, this recipe is fun, customizable, and simple to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup colorful candy mix-ins (e.g., chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, candy eyes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Melt 1 cup of unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over low heat; remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, combine 2 cups sugar and melted butter. Add 4 eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  4. Sift together 1 cup flour, ¾ cup cocoa powder, ½ teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon baking powder in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula. Mix until smooth but avoid overmixing.
  6. Fold in 1 cup of colorful candy mix-ins gently to distribute evenly.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan, smoothing the top. Bake 30–35 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Let brownies cool completely on a wire rack. Decorate with additional candies or chocolate drizzle if desired.
  9. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Use a silicone spatula to fold ingredients gently.
