  • boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • hot honey (store-bought or homemade with honey and hot sauce)
  • soft brioche or potato buns
  • crisp romaine or butter lettuce
  • dill pickles (crunchy slices)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pound the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap until they are about 1 inch thick.
  3. In a small bowl, combine 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Rub the spice mix all over the chicken breasts.
  5. Place a skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of oil.
  6. Carefully add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet and sear them on each side for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Transfer the skillet or move the chicken breasts to a baking dish after searing.
  8. Bake the chicken in your preheated oven for another 15-20 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  9. Let the chicken rest for five minutes before slicing it into thick strips.
  10. Spread hot honey generously over each piece of chicken.
  11. Place the chicken strips in toasted buns topped with fresh lettuce and crunchy pickles.
