Halloween Vampire Bite Cupcakes are a fun and spooky treat perfect for Halloween parties, family gatherings, or any festive occasion. These cupcakes combine a rich chocolate base with creamy frosting and a “vampire bite” effect created using red fruit jam. They are easy to customize, affordable, and guaranteed to impress both kids and adults.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • Red fruit jam (raspberry, strawberry, or cherry)
  • Cream cheese or buttercream frosting
  • Red food coloring (optional, for enhanced bite effect)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter with granulated and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3–4 minutes.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, fully incorporating each, then mix in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix on low speed until just combined.
  6. Spoon the batter into liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  7. Bake for 18–22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. While cupcakes cool, prepare the frosting by whipping cream cheese or buttercream until smooth and fluffy. Add red food coloring if desired.
  9. Hollow out a small section on the edge of each cupcake and fill it with red fruit jam to create the vampire bite effect.
  10. Frost the cupcakes, leaving the jam-filled area visible. Decorate further with candy fangs or additional red frosting drips if desired.
