Delicious green goddess pasta sauce recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1 cup fresh parsley leaves, chopped
  • 23 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 cup olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 cup heavy cream or coconut cream
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts, toasted
  • 12 ounces pasta of choice

Instructions

  1. Wash fresh basil and parsley under cold water.
  2. Pat them dry gently with paper towels and chop them finely.
  3. In a food processor or blender, combine the chopped herbs with garlic cloves and pine nuts.
  4. Pour in olive oil gradually while blending until you achieve a smooth consistency.
  5. Once blended, pour in heavy cream (or coconut cream) and add lemon juice, then pulse again until combined.
  6. Boil water in a large pot and generously salt it.
  7. Add pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  8. Drain the pasta but reserve some pasta water.
  9. In the same pot, pour in the Green Goddess Sauce and mix over low heat, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
  10. Garnish with extra chopped herbs and toasted pine nuts before serving.

Notes

Store leftover sauce in airtight containers.

Reheat gently over low heat.

Serve with whole grain pasta.
