These Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches combine creamy cheesecake filling with fresh strawberries, all enclosed between slices of bread and fried to golden perfection. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, they are an indulgent dessert or snack that can be made quickly and easily at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices sandwich bread (white or brioche)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Place softened cream cheese in a bowl. Add granulated sugar and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  2. Fold in the diced strawberries gently until evenly distributed in the mixture.
  3. Lay out the bread slices. Spread the cream cheese mixture generously over four slices. Place the remaining four slices on top to form sandwiches.
  4. Press lightly around the edges to help seal the filling inside. If desired, trim the crusts for a neater look.
  5. In one shallow bowl, place the flour. In a second bowl, whisk the egg and milk together. In a third bowl, add the breadcrumbs.
  6. Dip each sandwich first into the flour, coating all sides. Next, dip into the egg and milk mixture. Finally, coat thoroughly with breadcrumbs.
  7. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Test the oil by dropping in a small piece of bread; it should sizzle immediately.
  8. Place the coated sandwiches carefully into the hot oil. Fry for 2–3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Remove the sandwiches and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar and slice diagonally before serving warm.

Notes

Brioche bread adds richness, while regular sandwich bread gives a lighter result.

If you prefer a lighter version, bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes instead of frying.

Frozen strawberries can be used if well-drained.
