This Easy Parmesan Garlic Ramen is a quick and delicious twist on instant noodles. With just a few ingredients and minimal prep, it transforms into a comforting, creamy, and flavor-packed meal. Whether you’re cooking for one or need a fast side dish, this recipe is satisfying, affordable, and easy to customize.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pack ramen noodles (discard seasoning packet)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes, chopped parsley, green onions, cooked chicken, turkey bacon, or chicken ham

Instructions

  1. Bring a small pot of water to a boil. Add the ramen noodles and cook for 3 minutes or until just tender.
  2. Before draining, reserve ¼ cup of the cooking water. Then, drain the noodles completely and set them aside.
  3. In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until it begins to foam slightly.
  4. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter. Stir continuously and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, just until lightly golden and fragrant.
  5. Add the drained noodles to the pan. Toss them well in the garlic butter mixture using tongs or a fork.
  6. Pour in 2 tablespoons of the reserved cooking water to help loosen the sauce and blend everything together.
  7. Reduce the heat to low and sprinkle in the grated parmesan cheese. Stir continuously until the cheese has melted and coated the noodles evenly.
  8. Season with a pinch of salt and black pepper to taste.
  9. Add any desired toppings: red pepper flakes for heat, parsley or green onions for freshness, or cooked proteins like chicken, turkey bacon, or chicken ham.
  10. Serve immediately while hot for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

Freshly grated parmesan melts more smoothly than pre-packaged cheese.

For a spicy version, add a dash of chili oil or a spoonful of sriracha before serving.

Stir in a handful of baby spinach or peas with the noodles for extra color and nutrition.

This recipe does not require the seasoning packet from the ramen; homemade garlic and cheese flavors are more balanced and natural.

Adjust the consistency of the sauce by adding a little more reserved noodle water as needed.
