Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup crab meat (fresh or canned)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • A few drops of sesame oil (optional)
  • About 30 wonton wrappers
  • Oil for deep frying (vegetable or canola oil)
  • Water (for sealing wrappers)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, crab meat, chopped green onions, garlic powder, soy sauce, and sesame oil until smooth and well combined.
  2. Lay out the wonton wrappers on a clean surface.
  3. Place approximately one teaspoon of filling in the center of each wrapper.
  4. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water using your finger.
  5. Fold the wrapper over the filling to form a triangle or pouch, pressing firmly to seal all edges tightly.
  6. Heat oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Fry the rangoon bombs in batches, about 2-3 minutes each, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Do not overfill the wrappers to prevent leakage during frying.

Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying to ensure crispiness and prevent sogginess.

Baking is an alternative cooking method for a healthier option.

These bombs can be customized with different fillings like shrimp or chicken.
