These Chocolate Mint Oreo Cookies are a delightful treat combining rich chocolate, refreshing mint, and crunchy Oreo pieces. Soft in the center and slightly crisp on the edges, they are perfect for any occasion, from casual snacks to special celebrations.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped Oreos
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla and peppermint extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until combined. Avoid overmixing.
  6. Gently fold in chopped Oreos and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are slightly firm and centers remain soft.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Optionally, drizzle melted chocolate or sprinkle extra crushed Oreos on top.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30–60 minutes before baking.

Adjust peppermint extract according to taste preference.
