  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • Tortilla chips, plain

  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon for cinnamon sugar topping
  • melted butter for coating

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and dice about three medium apples into small pieces, about half an inch.
  3. Combine the diced apples in a bowl with brown sugar, cinnamon, and a splash of lemon juice.
  4. In another mixing bowl, beat together 8 ounces of softened cream cheese and ½ cup of granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  5. Fold the prepared apple mixture into the cream cheese base gently until well combined.
  6. Spoon the mixture into an oven-safe dish and spread it evenly.
  7. Place the dish into the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until bubbly and slightly golden on top.
  8. In a small bowl, combine ½ cup of sugar with 1 tablespoon of cinnamon.
  9. Toss the tortilla chips in melted butter until lightly coated.
  10. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture generously over the tortilla chips before spreading them on a baking sheet.
  11. Bake the chips in the same oven for about 10 minutes until crispy and fragrant.
  12. Let everything cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftover dip in airtight container.
