These crispy air fryer spicy dill pickle chips are a tangy, crunchy snack that comes together in minutes. With a flavorful breadcrumb coating and the perfect balance of spice, they are a healthier alternative to deep-fried pickles while still delivering restaurant-quality taste.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 jar dill pickle chips, drained and patted dry
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 ½ cups breadcrumbs (panko recommended for extra crunch)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Drain the pickle chips and place them on paper towels. Pat them dry thoroughly to remove excess moisture.
  2. Set up a breading station: one bowl with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Dredge each pickle chip in flour, then dip into the beaten eggs. Coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure the coating sticks. For extra crunch, repeat the egg and breadcrumb step a second time.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes. Spray the basket lightly with nonstick cooking spray.
  5. Place the coated pickle chips in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each piece. Spray the tops lightly with cooking spray.
  6. Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the basket and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For spicier chips, add more cayenne pepper or chili flakes to the breadcrumb mixture.

Try different coatings, such as seasoned breadcrumbs, crushed cornflakes, or parmesan cheese, for variety.

These are best served immediately, as they lose crispness if left to sit for too long.
