These Air Fryer Pasta Chips are a crunchy, flavorful snack that turns everyday pasta into a golden, crispy treat. Perfect for parties, movie nights, or a quick snack, they are easy to prepare, customizable, and loved by both kids and adults.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups dry pasta (penne or rigatoni recommended)
  • 12 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika or chili powder (optional)
  • Grated Parmesan or nutritional yeast (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the dry pasta and cook for 1–2 minutes less than the package instructions, so the pasta is slightly undercooked.
  2. Drain the pasta and rinse under cold water to stop cooking. Pat thoroughly dry with a towel to remove excess moisture.
  3. Place the cooled pasta in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika or chili powder. Toss until evenly coated. Add grated Parmesan or nutritional yeast if desired.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  5. Arrange the pasta in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding to ensure even crisping. Cook in batches if necessary.
  6. Air fry for 8–12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Keep an eye on the pasta to prevent burning, as air fryer models vary.
  7. Transfer the cooked pasta chips to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil. Let them cool slightly; they will continue to crisp as they cool.
  8. Serve plain or with your favorite dips such as marinara, cheese sauce, or yogurt-based dips.

Notes

Use slightly undercooked pasta for the best crunch.

Customize seasonings to suit your taste.

Store leftovers in an airtight container; reheat in the air fryer to restore crispiness.
